Tonya K. Grant is the author of the book, National Geographic Readers: Kamala Harris. Her articles have appeared in many publications, including National Geographic Kids, Clubhouse Jr., Highlights for Children, ParentLife Magazine, and books in the Chicken Soup for the Soul Series. She is currently an elementary school librarian and former classroom teacher. When she’s not reading or writing, she enjoys watching movies, knitting, traveling, and working out. As a writer, she hopes her stories spark children’s imaginations and will inspire them to write their own.

Tonya K. Grant is the author of the book, National Geographic Readers: Kamala Harris. She is currently an elementary school librarian and former classroom teacher with over 20 years of experience. She is committed to promoting reading and strives to inspire all children to read and see themselves in books. Her articles have appeared in many publications, including National Geographic Kids, Clubhouse Jr., Highlights for Children, ParentLife Magazine, and books in the Chicken Soup for the Soul Series.

She is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, the Georgia Library Media Association, and the Black Creators HQ’s Administrative Team. She served on the Georgia Picture Book Committee sponsored by the College of Education at the University of Georgia from 2015 to 2018. That experience allowed her to showcase her passion for reading.

When she’s not reading or writing, she enjoys watching movies, knitting, traveling, and working out. As a writer, she hopes her stories spark children’s imaginations and will inspire them to write their own.
